Designer Love for Lina Osterman.
|
Ms. Osterman is Swedish born but remains in London to work on her fabulous collections. As she will tell you, she tends not to design for a specific gender and so the appeal is for whoever might take a fancy to it. The viewpoint is decidedly young, decidedly hip, and decidedly “uber trendy.” Much of it is usually black and somewhat easy to wear ………….given a few exceptions. She exhibits great sartorial skills as well as dressmaking talents that define her customer physique as well as taste level. You can tell she is a great lover of fringes and studs and she has most certainly made great use of them as embellishments of her simple refined shapes. The young designer is renowned for her gritty rock and roller designs – inspired by the likes of 70s designer Ray Brown and surrealist filmmaker David Lynch. It drips with dark, gothic undertones and embodies all her classic details, the grungy designer studied at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London and launched her first label Pudel, with two of her friends in 2005. It’s the epitome of bad boy rocker, with slouchy sweaters, skinny jeans and biker jackets, and it’s still going strong. Osterman launched her self-labelled solo line in 2009 and has already received the accolade of having her designs showcased on stage by 30 Seconds to Mars front man Jared Leto and Swedish songstress Lykke Li.
