The Birth of VVV le video poste

It was born from an idea of loving fashion and having so many clothes in the closet that hadn’t been worn that it was time for a clean out for the season. A shop fetish that included me finding pieces all over the world just because they looked fabulous. It was almost like an obsession, like collecting beautiful marbles or shells. I started collecting items that I wouldn’t even wear for myself, that were in all different sizes, just because they were like pieces of art. A guilty feeling that all these amazing pieces collected from different parts of the world were going to go to waste, soon disappeared with a light bulb idea that a small shop could help me manage this shop fetish.

A small a humble shop was soon created and the items soon sold out in months. It almost became unmanageable looking after the shop on the road and restocking. The shop took a break and it was here, through time, the new vvvintage began! I met Lola Peach, manager of the site, through music, photography and fashion. We stumbled on our new friendship over the scream and excitement of “having the same leggings on”, (zebra print), at Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes, London. We started to work on the site together to develop this idea that fabulous fashion could be managed and shared and it was our passion to provide a community and platform for new designers and artists. Jumping into this business venture we learnt so much about, tax, stock lists, Photoshop, editing, producing video virals, brand association and the enjoyment of just finding special pieces for the customer.

The photo shoot included a wonderful day stumbling down stairs with camera equipment and lights, figuring out light boom fixtures and prepping and organizing the day with a home made lunch. Long drives to the most northern parts of the country finding one of a kind jackets stocked in small warehouses from new designers left us exhausted but looking at the leather jacket with those amazing red tassels made us know it was worth it.  Shooting in a World War 1 bunker, damp and scary with a spot light and constantly filling up the generator with fear it would fail on us, leaving in pitch blackness was a laughing moment, and driving our models up and down to the location ourselves with road works and traffic, lets say stressful. Scouting for offices ending on a balance for a realizing how fun it is to see the stock all neatly railed and organized.

Everything has been such an amazing journey up to this point and we are so happy to have you here in our world of fashion, art and culture. We are forever growing and are dedicated to making your shopping experience an exciting breeze.
